We are a Jewish Hospice Provider. Our services extend to our patients and their families, who are able to stay in our facility during the final stages of life, or may return home with a support team that visits them on an ongoing basis. We provide palliative care for the end-stage illnesses or terminal conditions that are for patients with a life expectancy of 6 months or less.

Our services include comprehensive physical, emotional and spiritual support for those coming into hospice care as well as for their families, who often feel lost and unsure about how to proceed through this challenging time. We help families by providing guidance and assistance with their options, relieving the burden of choice, and helping them to discuss matters with their doctors.

We are a community that has been providing compassionate care to the Jewish community for over 8 years. We provide a unique and comprehensive approach to end-of-life care by employing Rabbis and other spiritual professionals as well as nurses, social workers, physical therapists and home health aides with expertise in end-of-life care. This multidisciplinary team gives us the ability to meet the demands of medically fragile cases, providing a homelike environment where patients can reside at home with their families or in our facilities.

In Judaism, death is not feared as an end point but rather embraced as part of the natural cycle of life and fostered as an important moment to be celebrated. Our goal is to give comfort to people during the last phase of life and to offer an opportunity for those who are grieving to say goodbye in the comfort of a Jewish setting.

Jewish Hospice services are not restricted by age, diagnosis or residency. Our services provide a safe and welcoming environment for patients who wish to observe Jewish traditions, customs and culture at the end of life. In addition, we provide a confidential and supportive team at the patient’s bedside to assist in completing the final rites of death and burial.

Our services are designed for people of all backgrounds. We offer individualized programs, in homes or hospice facilities, for patients with multiple chronic diseases who want to die at home, as well as traditional hospice care for those whose life expectancy is less than 6 months. Our compassionate staff understands our patients’ needs and takes on the role of family by supporting their decisions regarding where they will transition.

The Jewish Hospice Services’ home health agency was founded in 2011 to provide services to the Jewish community in Los Angeles. Over the last 8 years, we have grown from a small, grassroots program focused on bringing end-of-life care to people in their homes, to a thriving and multi-faceted organization that provides comprehensive hospice care throughout the Greater Los Angeles area.
